From handheld cutters to power drills, contractors love their tools. (Nod to Tool Time.) To get ‘er done no matter what the job calls for, you need the right equipment. We work alongside the best suppliers and manufacturers in the industry to make that happen.

Make room in your toolboxes, folks! In this post, we’ve rounded up a few handy tools to help you cut and strip cable like a boss.

Efficient Cable Cutting with IDEAL PowerBlade

The Need

To facilitate terminations, you need to cut through aluminum and copper cables. But could a butter knife cut cable as well as what you’re using? To cleanly cut through heavy duty cables, you need more power.

Termination is futile. (Any Star Trek fans here? No?) With the IDEAL PowerBlade, you won’t get the distortion you would from a handheld cable cutter. This handy tool cuts a smooth edge to make termination a snap.

The PowerBlade cuts up to 750 mcm of copper and 100 mcm of aluminum. The Big Kahuna cuts up to 1250 mcm copper and aluminum, and the Merlin ACSR cuts up to 3/4″ ACSR cable. Just throw it into the back of any drill and, as long as it’s 12V corded or uncorded, you’re good to go.

 Greenlee Saber Stripper Tool

The Need

I said it once, and I’ll say it again: Safety is the cheapest and most effective insurance policy. If you’re not careful, stripping cable could mean a close call with a sharp blade. (Ouch!) To add insult to injury, changing out different cable sizes can be a time suck.

May the force be with you. (No, it’s not that kind of saber.) The Greenlee Saber Stripper Tool was designed to keep your hands away from utility knives and blades while stripping cable.

With a series of bushings for different cable sizes, with a depth stop that adjusts to suit your needs, stripping cables of all sizes is easy, safe, and fast—no extra tools required.
